We established LMD Planning Consultancy in 2007 bringing together our extensive knowledge and experience as professionally qualified Architects and Planners. This includes a combined 12 years Resource Management Planning experience in the NZ Local Government.
We have experience in preparing development proposals, research & feasibility studies, district planning, structure planning, consent processing, urban design, architectural design, assessment of environmental effects, landscape design, visual impact assessments and project management.
We are committed to provide high quality professional services to our clients. We organise and coordinate input from specialists such as Engineers, Surveyors, Ecologists and Archaeologists into a project where necessary.

I graduated as an Architect from the University of Moratuwa, and worked for the Urban Development Authority in Sri Lanka for 17 years covering a wide range of architectural and urban planning projects. During this period, I obtained post graduate qualification in Urban Development Planning from the University of London. My research on ‘Effectiveness of Development Control Systems in Colombo, Sri Lanka’ was published by the university. I also had a short term training in ‘Urban Management and Finance’ at the All India Institute of Local Self Government, Bombay.

I graduated in BSc Built Environment from the University of Moratuwa with a Second Class and then completed Post Graduate studies in Architecture with a research on ‘Identification of Landscape Principles in the Sigiriya Rock Capital, Sri Lanka’ which was later selected for publication by the University Grants Commission. I worked at the State Engineering Corporation and then at the Urban Development Authority in architectural design, urban development and project management. During this period, I participated in a short term training in ‘Advanced Architectural Engineering at the Hanyang University, South Korea, and in ‘Architecture and Development’ at the Lund University, Sweden.
